Hunting and Fishing

Kosovo is rich with hills and mountains, which in turn are rich with fauna. As for animal and birds fauna the hills and meadows of Kosovo territory are rich with roes, boars, deer and rabbits, magpies, starlings, partridges, pheasants, woodpeckers, brown ravens, pigeons, etc whereas in mountainous zones can be found bears, foxes, lynxes, wolves, big and small wildfowl, forest hens, partridges, squirrels, etc. 
As for water fauna Kosovo is rich with trout, eel, catfish, carp, bleak, gudgeon, etc. 
Hunting and Fishery are regulated by law according to which any person who hunts or fishes should have the appropriate license. Responsible for the licenses is the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development in consultation with Water Department of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning. 
The law determines the areas where the exercise of these activities is allowed, the weapons that can be used, the ways of hunting and fishing, respectively. These all depend on whether the purpose of the activity is recreational, economic, scientific, etc.
