Hospitals are divided according to regions in most of the cities of Kosovo, such as:

University Clinic Center of Kosovo (QKUK), regional hospital Prishtina;

  • Regional hospital Peja;
  • Regional hospital Gjakova;
  • Regional hospital Ferizaj;
  • Regional hospital Gjilan;
  • Regional hospital Mitrovica;

According to the type of the disease the hospitals are divided into clinics, such as:

  • Emergency;
  • Cardiology Rheumatology Clinic;
  • Psychiatric Clinic;
  • Orthopedic Clinic;
  • Gynecologic Clinic;
  • Ophthalmology Clinic;
  • Clinic for Ear, Nose, and Throat (ORL);
  • Pediatric Clinic (for children);
  • Dental Clinic;
  • Infective Clinic;
  • Dermatology Clinic;
  • Surgery Clinic;
  • Blood test and transfusion Clinic (Laboratory);
  • Morgue.

The specialist takes care of the health protection and curing of different diseases. The specialists providing medical care work in respective hospitals and they comprise a team of doctors:

Psychiatrist, Gynecologist, Dermatologist (skin doctor), Ophthalmologist (eye doctor), Infection Doctor (doctor for contagious disease such as tuberculosis, etc.), Dentist (teeth doctor), and Surgeon, who treats cases of injuries (wound, injury) and who in emergency cases intervenes without the prescription of family doctor.
